What makes a pitch get read
- Keep it short. Aim for around 100–150 words in an email and less in a DM. If it needs scrolling, it is too long.
- Be specific. One real detail about the brand does more than any amount of praise. Generic messages are easy to spot and easy to ignore.
- Make it easy to say yes. Link your media kit or profile so they can see your numbers straight away.
- Suggest one clear idea. A brand can react to an idea far more easily than to “let’s collaborate”.
- Send it to the right person. Influencer marketing, partnerships and creator-relations roles tend to respond far more than general contacts.
- Follow up once or twice. A short nudge about 5–7 days later is normal. If there is still no reply after a second one, move on.
How to use it
- Fill in the form. The three boxes at the top are enough; the rest makes it personal.
- Read it out loud. Edit anything that does not sound like you.
- Add your media kit. Make one with the Media Kit Generator and paste the link in.
- Send, then follow up. Use the ready-made follow-up if you have not heard back in about a week.
Before you send
- Check the brand’s name, and your contact’s name and email address, are spelled correctly.
- Make sure your numbers are current and you can back them up with a screenshot.
- Say clearly what you are offering and what you would like in return.
- If the work will be paid or paid in products, plan to label the post as an ad.
- Have your rates ready. Price a deal with the Influencer Rate Calculator or, for UGC, the UGC Pricing Calculator.
Expect some silence
Even good cold pitches get low reply rates, so silence is rarely personal. Send several well-aimed pitches rather than waiting on one, and keep each one specific.
Frequently asked questions
Is this AI?
No. It fills your details into carefully written templates — nothing is sent to an AI service, and nothing leaves your browser. That also means you can trust what you see and edit it freely.
How long should a pitch be?
Around 100–150 words for an email, and shorter for a DM. The tool counts the words and tells you if it is running long.
When should I follow up?
About 5–7 days after the first message is a common rule. One follow-up is normal and a second is fine. After that, move on and pitch someone else.
Email, Instagram DM or LinkedIn?
Email is usually the best first choice for a business pitch, because you can attach or link your media kit. DMs work well for smaller brands that manage their own account, and LinkedIn suits reaching a named marketing or partnerships person.
Should I include my rates?
You can. Some brands like to see a starting rate straight away; others prefer to see it in your media kit. If you fill the rate box, the message mentions it. Leave it empty to keep rates for later.
What if I am happy to work for products?
Choose “Product in exchange for content”. Remember that gifted products still count as a partnership, so label the post clearly.
Can I edit the text?
Yes — the boxes are editable. Changing the form writes a fresh version, so make your edits last.
Do you store what I type?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers.
