How this estimate is worked out
There is no single correct price for a brand deal, so we show the workings. Every step is below, and the calculator shows your own numbers next to your result.
- Start from followers. We take the typical price of one Instagram Reel at your follower count, based on 2026 India rate guides. It rises smoothly as you grow, with no sudden jumps at 10K or 100K.
- Adjust for the format. A Story costs less than a Reel; a YouTube integration costs more.
- Adjust for engagement. Higher than typical for your size pushes the price up, lower pushes it down — never more than 40% up or 25% down.
- Adjust for niche. Some niches, such as finance and tech, usually pay more.
- Add rights and extras. Paid ads, partnership ads and exclusivity are priced as a percentage on top.
- Give a range. The walk-away minimum is 20% below the market rate, and the opening ask is 25% above it, so there is room to negotiate.
Example. A fashion creator with 25,000 followers and a 3% engagement rate is quoting for one Reel. The calculator gives a walk-away minimum of ₹17,500, a market rate of ₹22,000 and an opening ask of ₹27,500.
Typical Instagram Reel rates in India
For comparison, here is what 2026 rate guides report for a single Reel by account size. Rates vary widely inside each band, because niche, engagement and content quality all count.
| Account size | Followers | Reported range for one Reel | Typical engagement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nano | 1K–10K | ₹1,000 – ₹10,000 | 2–6% |
| Micro | 10K–100K | ₹8,000 – ₹75,000 | 1.5–4% |
| Mid-tier | 100K–500K | ₹50,000 – ₹3,50,000 | 0.9–2% |
| Macro | 500K–1M | ₹1,50,000 – ₹8,00,000 | 0.6–1.4% |
| Mega | 1M and above | ₹6,00,000 – ₹25,00,000+ | 0.4–1% |
Ranges reported in 2026 India rate guides for one Instagram Reel with basic rights. They overlap and disagree, so use them as a sanity check, not a rule.

Usage rights, partnership ads and exclusivity in plain words
- Usage rights let the brand reuse your content — on its own page, website or in ads. Reposting on its own page for a short time is usually included. Running your content as a paid ad is extra.
- Partnership ads (whitelisting) let the brand run ads through your Instagram handle, so the ad appears to come from you. It is priced separately from usage rights.
- Exclusivity means you do not work with competing brands for a set time, so it costs you other deals. The longer the period, the higher the price.
Do not include paid usage in your base price. Quote it as its own line, with a start and end date.
Tips for quoting and negotiating
If you are a creator
- Quote in writing and itemise it: the Reel, any Stories, usage, exclusivity.
- Most quotes have some room to negotiate. It is often easier to add a deliverable than to cut your price.
- Ask for part of the payment upfront, and agree when the rest is due.
- Quotes usually exclude GST. If you are registered, add it on top (18% is the usual rate — check with your CA).
- Mark paid posts clearly as ads. India’s ad regulator expects paid partnerships to be disclosed.
If you are a brand
- Ask for average views and engagement rate, not just followers. You can check a creator’s rate with the Engagement Rate Calculator.
- Compare the quote with the walk-away minimum and market rate here before you reply.
- Ask what is included: number of posts, usage period and any exclusivity.
- Booking several deliverables usually earns a package discount.
Frequently asked questions
Is the price per post or for the whole deal?
The three big numbers are the total for the number of deliverables you enter. When you enter more than one, we also show roughly what each one costs.
What do “walk-away minimum”, “market rate” and “opening ask” mean?
The market rate is the fair price we estimate for your size, niche and format. The walk-away minimum is 20% below it — going lower usually means undercharging. The opening ask is 25% above it, which leaves room to settle at the market rate.
Why does it ask for my engagement rate?
Two accounts with the same followers can be worth different amounts. If your engagement is higher than typical for your size, the estimate goes up (by up to 40%); if it is lower, it goes down (by up to 25%). If you are not sure of yours, leave it blank and we assume a typical rate.
Do these prices include GST?
No. Quotes are normally given before GST. If you are registered for GST, add it on top — 18% is the usual rate for these services, but check with your CA.
Why are TikTok and Facebook not included?
We do not yet have reliable India pricing data for them, and we would rather leave them out than guess. We will add them when we do.
How should I price a YouTube video?
YouTube prices depend a lot on average views, not only subscribers. We use subscribers to start, so if your views are far lower than your subscriber count, aim for the walk-away minimum.
Is this the same as UGC pricing?
No. This calculator prices posts that a creator publishes to their own followers, so audience size matters. UGC — content a brand posts on its own channels or uses in ads — is priced per video, not by followers. For that, use the UGC Pricing Calculator.
How accurate is this?
It is an estimate built from 2026 India rate guides and industry benchmarks, last reviewed September 2026. Real deals depend on your content quality, your audience, the brand’s budget and how the talk goes. Use it as a starting point.
Do you store what I enter?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers.
